Why the Math on Social Media Doesn’t Add Up for Writers
I’ve been at this social media game for *cough* a while now, trying to use different platforms to share my writing and market myself. It can be beneficial if you’re strategic about it.
But if you’re wondering why it feels exhausting and impossible to keep up sometimes, it’s because the math isn’t in our favor.

This video — which is relevant to all creators, not just writers — breaks it down.
The golden rule at the end? Memorize it.
One important note: In the list of options, my assumption is that you will NOT completely hire out any of your writing or content creation. That’s because I care deeply about the ability of people to trust that whatever they see came out of my own head. As a ghostwriter, I totally understand if you need a copilot to be a sounding board, help you organize, get the posts to flow, etc. But I don’t believe in not being involved at all. So, although hiring someone might cut your time down a little, there’s no way to cut your content creation time completely. If you’re going to do social media, don’t do it half-arsed.
